Save Vs Splurge: 5 Cult MAC Lipsticks And Their Cheaper Counterparts!

Save Vs Splurge: 5 Cult MAC Lipsticks And Their Cheaper Counterparts!

If there’s one type of product that people associate with MAC, it’s got to be their lipsticks. Whether you’re a makeup junkie or not, you know that this cult beauty brand is known by all, thanks to their famous lipsticks.

However, in comparison with the drugstore lippies, MAC lipsticks can be a tad bit pricey. Of course, for that once in a while splurge, it is perfect — but, replacing the product every now and then can cause your wallet some heavy weight loss.

That’s when dupes swoop in and save your day! Like literally, you get pretty much the same product for half the price.

Now if you are an avid MAC user and are happy with splurging on every perfect shade, then we suggest giving this a miss. But if you love those MAC lipsticks and cannot afford ’em, then keep scrolling — we’ve got 5 most-wanted shades that desis love and their cheaper twin along with it!

1. Ruby Woo (Rs 1,500) VS NYX Matte Lipstick in Perfect Red (Rs 625)

This classic is red is probably the first MAC lipstick that’s on everyone’s list. Ruby Woo is a retro matte lipstick that leaves a bright and vivid hue on the lips. NYX’s Perfect Red is just as vibrant as the Ruby Woo and is half the price!

MAC Taupe Dupe_Hauterfly

2. Taupe (Rs 1,500) Vs L’Oreal Paris Color Riche in Maple Mocha (Rs 760)

When it comes to nudes, Taupe is a cult fave. This matte lipstick is muted brown with a tinge of red and a great dupe for this shade is L’Oreal’s Maple Mocha. The moist matte texture also leaves the lips feeling soft and nourished, rather than dry and flaky.

MAC Chili Dupe_Hauterfly

3. Chili (Rs 1,500) Vs Colorbar Matte in Pretty Please (Rs 260)

This orangish red hue perfectly balances the two shades when applied. A nice pop colour, when it comes to reds after Ruby Woo, Chili is a go-to. Colorbar’s Pretty Please comes pretty close to this MAC shade, although it does have a velvety matte sheen to it. #HauteTip: If you want to matte it down further, simply pat your lips with a tissue.

MAC Flat Out Fabulous_Hauterfly

4. Flat Out Fabulous (Rs 1,500) Vs Street Wear Ultra Moist in Pink Passion (Rs 220)

This vibrant colour doesn’t seem like an Indian fave, but it is! The shocking pink hue might be a little much, but once applied it gives of a nice vivid pink. When swatched, the colour that comes really close to FOF has got to be Street Wear’s Pink Passion — basically the same finish for like a steal of a price.

MAC Diva dupe_Hauterfly

5. Diva (Rs 1,500) Vs L’Oreal Paris Pure Reds Color Riche in Pure Brick (Rs 820)

If you’re into dark colours, then Diva is one you have probably come across. A deep and intense burgundy plum, this colour is the vamp shade of your dreams. On the same lines is L’Oreal Paris’ Pure Brick Red, which has a similar colour payoff. It, however, isn’t all that matte as the MAC and provides a hydrating finish instead.
